Product 2 that’s empty! Let’s go!
I bought this product at the suggestion of a sales assistant in Boots because I had a 3 for 2 but no idea what I should add for free. Besides the Divine Cream, I’d never really used a separate day and night cream, so this is my first night cream.
Glycerin is a humectant which means it absorbs water from the environment and lower layers of skin which increases the amount of water in the surface layers of skin.
Eperua Falcata Bark Extract, Salicylic Acid & Capryloyl Salicylic Acid are there to reduce impurities and reduce the look of imperfections by being anti inflammatories. Salicylic Acid is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) a chemical exfoliator and Capryloyl Salicylic Acid is a lipophilic hydroxy acid (LHA) that is a derivative of salicylic acid. It enhances the effects of salicylic acid and while this probably isn’t at the right level to exfoliate, it still can work as an anti inflammatory.
Perlite is there to absorb the excess sebum produces at night.
Dimethicone & Silica are silicones which do not cause acne. As much as I love Cosdna, it isn’t the law and should be used as a guide. Although Paula’s Choice Beautypedia is biased towards the products they sell, their Beautipedia still has a lot of useful information. Read the entry on silicones here.
Why I love it so much.
On their website, Vichy promise
New Normaderm Night helps to control the production of sebum & purify the skin. Blemishes appear reduced, pores look less visible, complexion looks radiant and skin feels clean and purified.
My skin feels great once I wake up, all plump and refreshed. I tend to wake up with a dewy glow, with a slightly oily nose, however I attribute this to sleeping with my head under the covers. My skin is naturally quite oily, but since using this product it’s been a lot less oily.
Unfortunately it doesn’t do very much when I’m dealing with hormonal acne, but other times during my cycle, my face definitely looks a lot better when I wake up.
Vichy is widely available at Boots.
