Artist Spotlight: Scott Bradlee & Postmodern Jukebox

A collective that do vintage covers of popular music? Well that sounds swell dollface!

Boyfriend linked me to this cover:


and I fell in love. Not only is the double bass one of my favourite instruments, but her voice is amazing and this arrangement is really good. It’s fun in the same way the original is but with an interesting twist. I really like this cover, which is why it’s such a shame that the rest of the album doesn’t live up to it. I’ve listened to a lot of their work on YouTube and while there are some stand out hits, overall it is pretty hit and miss.

Oh! Before I forget, if you’ve ever played BioShock Infinite, you’ll have heard some vintage covers. Some of those were done byย Scott Bradlee! I thought that was pretty cool, and it reminded me that I needed to get that soundtrack.
