The Wu Tan Clan’s ASL interpreter is pretty badass.

Last weekΒ Wu Tang Clan performed at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, but it isn’t their set that everyone is all excited about, it’s their ASL interpreter. While I can’t say I understand her signs, she’s clearly the star of the show, throwing her all into the music and really getting into it. The video is awesome!

Sign Language has always fascinated me. While spoken language relies on tonal changes and inflections to convey meaning, sign language relies on facial expressions and at times full body movement. So it’s pretty exciting watching someone convey the mood and excitement that sound can bring, through a totally different medium.

Music really does have a way of bringing people together.
