Just Water July.

I like to set challenges for myself to do each month. In May I did, “No TF2 May“, in June, “Junk Food Free June” and they’ve all been difficult challenges in their own way. They’ve actually spilled over past the months, so while I don’t totally abstain I’ve found myself not playing TF2 and not eating junk food as much.

This month I’ve set myself the biggest challenge of just drinking water. I’ve broken it three time already (derp) by forgetting and having a sip of something flavoured. But I’m glad I’m doing it! It’s actually helped me realise just how much of what I drink consists of sugary drinks, how little water I drink, and actually how little I’ve been drinking to keep myself properly hydrated. Months ago I bought a Brita filter water bottle to help me stay hydrated, but I neglected it in favour of green tea and high juice.

I’ve known for a long time that my skin is dehydrated and I’d been dealing with it from the outside in with products, instead of inside in by staying more hydrated. So while it’s tough, I’m enjoying the challenge, it’s prompting me to pay attention to hydration which is really important especially as the summer heat is unreal right now.

Do you set yourself challenges?

I wonder what I’m going to do for August..

  1. Love challenges. They are a great way of pushing yourself to achieve something. They also show you just how much will power you have.
I’ve been doing a few lately.. they all slightly overlap and are fitness related (at least I consider these challenges because I really do struggle when I start.. they do get easier) –
    1) clean eating (high protein, high fat, low carb diet – NO sugars) for 5 weeks – completed
    2) intermittent fasting (you eat all of your healthy foods between 13:00 to 21:00 – you do not eat less, but simply eat all of your calories within a shorter period of time) -I’m on week 3 (it does get easier), 6 more to go
    3) 50 day challenge of clean eating (intermittent fasting style) and training to reach a 17% body fat. Starting on Monday
    Can’t wait! 🙂

I love setting myself challenges but I never stick to them lmao! I always drink water though, I hardly ever drink sugary drinks but I need to cut down on eating junk food like burgers and fries! I think I might set myself a challenge now. Great post xx

Thank you for commenting! I’m finding the water thing really hard, but cutting out junk food was easy for me! Haha. If only we could do it for each other!

Good luck with your challenge! Let me know how it goes for you 🙂

Is water with fresh fruit (like lemons) allowed? It helps shake things up if it gets a little too dull 🙂 I’ve also started committing myself to drinking more water, and it was going really well until I got home from visiting family and had Pepsi!

Nope! I’ve tried that before and its a slippery slope for me. Nope, fully committed to just tap or bottled plain water.

I always knew water had different flavours, but now I’m really noticing it. Sainsbury’s Scottish Highlands water is my favouriteee by far.

What are your fruit water recipes? I’ve seen a few cool ones on Pinterest, but I’ve been to scared to try.

Lemon & Lime is lovely (or either of those on their own), Raspberry is amazing as well. I’ve been doing blogilates stuff, and she has a bunch of fruit water recipes that I haven’t tried yet, but they look really good.

You don’t need the fancy bottle, although I am tempted to get a cheap one off of ebay just for ease 🙂
